BIRA-IASB IASI methane profiles

The IASI CH₄ product is developed and distributed by the Infrared Team of BIRA-IASB.

Note: this dataset is generated as part of the ESA GHG-CCI project and is still under validation.

The IASI CH₄ profiles are delivered in HDF5 format. Daily daytime and nighttime observations are provided in separate files. The HDF files contain CH₄ profiles, the retrieval error, the a CH₄ priori profiles and averaging kernels. Each individual file is typically 200-260 MB. If your data request is large, please contact the data manager (evelyn.dewachter@aeronomie.be)

The retrievals are performed between 60°S and 70°N.

Usage

Make your selection using the left menu
Once done, click on the 'Show files' button
Click on individual days in the calendar to select the datasets for those days
Click on month names to select a whole month of data. Selection of several months is possible.
Deselect days and or months by clicking on them
When finished, click on the Request files button at the bottom of the page
Corresponding JSON string for API is available by clicking on the button at the right end of the selection summary bar on top of the calendar
Green frames on the selections in the left menu indicate that several choices are possible
Yellow frames indicate that only one choice is possible.
Click on the 'Clear selection' button in the left menu before starting a new selection of data files
